The Illinois Housing Development Authority is giving a $400,000 grant to the North Central Illinois Council of Governments for a home repair program. NCICG Executive Director Kevin Lindeman says ten home owners could get up to $45,000 for safety and accessibility improvements. NCICG can offer the money in five counties in the form of five-year loans that are forgivable for home owners who stay in their homes.
The state grant is providing $15.3 million across Illinois for such programs.
