This year’s keynote speaker at the Illinois Valley Community College graduation ceremony will be its own president. Jerry Corcoran is retiring after 15 years as the college’s president and 33 years working for the college. His last day is June 30th. Tracy Morris begins her presidency on July 1st. Some accomplishments during his presidency include the opening of the IVCC Ottawa Center, building the truck driver training facility, and construction of the Peter Miller Community Technology Center. The college also includes leaving the college debt-free, awarding a record number of scholarships, The ceremony will be Saturday, May 13th at 1:30 in the IVCC gym. About 200 students are expected to graduate.
