LaSalle County Land Use Director Brian Gift says the department has completed a draft of the county’s comprehensive plan update. He says it’s a collection of maps, data, and the county’s goals and objectives for the future.
He says the plan is a good resource for information about the county.
The plan looks at the population of the county, the county’s environmental resources, and the goals and strategies of what the county wants to do to use and protect the land it has. A public hearing on the plan will be held next Wednesday, May 3 at the LaSalle County Governmental Complex on E. Etna Rd. in Ottawa at 10:30am in the county boardroom. Gift says residents could be interested in the trends of the county like how many kids are enrolled in school or how many farmers the county has. The County Board will vote on the comprehensive plan at a future meeting.
