The city of Marseilles was testing to make sure no rainwater was getting into their sanitary sewer yesterday. City workers used a green dye to test it. That prompted some residents on Pacific and Young Streets to ask what was going on. City Commissioner Jim Buckingham says the dye is non-toxic and there’s nothing to worry about. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says it was also to make sure no liquid fertilizer from the semi tip over last week would have made it into the sanitary sewer.
