County Board approves remodeling medical office for coroner’s use

By WCMY News Apr 14, 2023 | 3:42 AM

Last month, the LaSalle County Board approved buying a former medical office building in Oglesby for the coroner’s office for $250,000. But the board sent a resolution for $100,000 more in improvements to the Public Safety Committee. Some members complained that it didn’t go through the committee in the first place.

Since then, the committee approved the recommendation. And yesterday, the board voted 24 to one for it. Tom Walsh of Ottawa objected, feeling the county should make room for the coroner elsewhere.

It’s approved, but it could take several months for the office at 520 W. Walnut to be remodeled.
