Some more scholarships are available through the LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam counties Regional Office of Education. Supt. Chris Dvorak says pandemic relief scholarships are available on the office’s website or can be picked up at the office at the downtown LaSalle County Courthouse in Ottawa. One of three scholarships has Illinois Valley Community College looking for prospective students and students already enrolled to provide $250,000 of financial assistance for school programs in areas with a shortage of CNAs, EMT paramedics, LPNs, and RNs. $150,000 in scholarships is available for mental health professionals that can document their work for a year from the time of the application. They also need to include the documentation of college debt. A third $100,000 grant is for students completing a license in social work and mental health professions over the next two years which is not offered at IVCC. Applications are due by Friday, June 16th at the Regional Office.
