74th District St. Rep. Brad Fritts says he’s pleased that some of his bills have made it out of committee. One bill makes it easier for people 18 years old and younger to get their motorcycle license by getting rid of a second test they had to take. A second bill creates the Care for Retired Police Dogs Program, which provides funding for retired police dogs. The third bill ensures people battling with addiction will have a set of standards and requirements through the Illinois Department of Health and Human Services. Fritts says we need to take addiction seriously and this measure will aid in the recovery process. None of the bills have been voted on yet by the full Illinois General Assembly, but have been debated on the House floor.
