The Ottawa Elementary School District is looking to start a Community Solar program. Ten acres of land south of Central School would be used to place the solar panels that generate power for all six schools in the district. Supt. Michelle Lee says the district could save 40% on electricity costs.
But the project isn’t happening right away. Lee says the school board has more questions first.
Residents in the district could also attach their property to the solar panels to help save money.
