The Tonica and Cedar Point Fire Department received grant money from the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office. The grant money will be used to purchase small equipment. The Cedar Point Fire Department will use $10,500 to purchase three defibrillators and some stretchers. Tonica’s Fire Department will use $18,500 to purchase 20 new air tanks. The State Fire Marshal’s Office gave a total of $1.5 million to sixty-four fire departments across the state.
