No trial dates are currently scheduled for either of the two people charged with the attempted murder of an undercover police officer in Streator during a drug bust last year. But both defendants have lawyers again.

Twenty year old Courtney Perkins, accused of firing the gun at the police officer, told a judge last month he wanted to hire his own lawyer. Unable to do that, he asked for a public defender this week. It’ll take a few weeks for his current lawyer to look over the evidence. He’ll be in court again March 31.

Twenty-six year old Alaina Cravatta’s case is being delayed, at her request, until the case against Perkins is over. Both are also charged with drug dealing. Her next court date is April 6.
