Cong. Darin LaHood says he was wrongly investigated by the FBI. LaHood is on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He said at a committee hearing today, he believes he was the subject of improper FBI queries under FISA—the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The Republican Congressman says inappropriate querying of a duly elected member of congress degrades trust in the intelligence community and undermines democracy. He says he wants to work with his colleagues to protect people’s civil liberties and restore faith in the FBI and intelligence community.
