Janis R. White, 90, of Morris, IL passed away peacefully March 6, 2023.
Janis was born in Morris, IL on June 24, 1932, to Everett and Alice (Baker) Southcombe. She was raised and educated in Morris and married Gerald H. (Gerry) White on September 16, 1950, and together they had four children: Steve, Kathy, Kerry, and Kim. Janis worked many jobs throughout her life: she was a dental assistant for 25 years, a bookkeeper, insurance agent for 25 years, and a Mary Kay con-sultant for 12 years. She also sang in the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus, and often accompanied Gerry on the piano as he sang for many special events.
Wherever Janis and Gerry lived they always found a morning coffee group, which added to and ce-mented their connection and love within the community. Janis was also an accomplished seamstress and made prom and wedding dresses for her daughters’ special events. In her free time, she enjoyed reading fiction novels, and kept a detailed journal of all her reads! Above all, she genuinely loved spending time with her family.
Surviving her are daughters Kathleen (Richard) Fosen of Bourbonnais, IL, Kerry (Bill) Brannan of Ames, Iowa and Kimberly (Wayne) Czyz of Ottawa, IL, grandchildren, Kathy (Nick) Hitch of Shirley, IL, John White of Normal, IL , Mike (Cahli) White of Towanda, IL, Rebecca Macha (Patrick Jenkins), Elizabeth (Corey) Chase, Abigail (Eric) Johnson, Katie (Eli) Suddarth, Jackie (Phil) Young, Kristin (Andrew) Zell, and Ryan Czyz, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
