Weekly COVID update: Current cases down; no new deaths for a second week

For a second week in a row, there were no new deaths from COVID-19 in LaSalle County. That means the death count remains at 512 people in the county so far. The LaSalle County Health Department also reported that current COVID cases went down after going up last week. There were 824 current cases reported this week compared to 861 last week. Recoveries also outnumber new cases. There were 117 new cases reported this week with 154 recoveries. LaSalle County remains in the low community spread level according to the Centers for Disease Control.
