Bridge inspectors will work next week on Veterans Memorial Bridge or Illinois 23 across the Illinois River. The Illinois Department of Transportation says they’ll work from 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday. One lane and the sidewalk on that side of the bridge will be closed. Both lanes and the sidewalk on the other side will stay open until the crew crosses to that side. IDOT asks drivers to plan for slowdowns there.
