Trial For Defendants In ComEd Bribery Case Delayed

(Chicago, IL) — The trial for the four charged in the ongoing ComEd bribery case is being delayed. Jury selection was set to begin next Monday in Chicago, however, a federal judge announced jury selection will now begin on March 14th. Charged in the case are retired lobbyist Michael McClain, ex-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore, former ComEd executive John Hooker, and consultant Jay Doherty. All four were indicted in 2020 on charges accusing them of conspiring to provide Michael Madigan associates with jobs and contracts with ComEd in exchange for favorable action in Springfield. Madigan was the Illinois House speaker.
