The 2023 Black and White Ball has a new location this year. Starved Rock Country Regional Center Marketing Manager Jennifer Kirkman says it will be at the Auditorium Ballroom in LaSalle instead of the Grand Bear Lodge in Utica. The event is held every year to raise money for the center that helps children with and without disabilities Kirkman says it was started by the Ottawa Business Builders fourteen years ago. The event was taken over by the Easter Seals before it became the Starved Rock Regional Center.
She also says the people attending are supposed to dress up, since it is a black tie event.
Kirkman says the big event of the night include the live auction. The center will also announce Bennett Esmen as the center’s ambassador for this year. The event is expected to raise $60,000, which goes toward upgrading the center and getting materials for the therapists at the center. The event is this Saturday from five pm until eleven.
