Fire fighters on opposite ends of LaSalle County dealt with house fires last night. Both were out quickly.
Streator’s fire department went to the 600 block of N. Shabbona St. The fire was at the back door. Firefighters were called call after 10pm Sunday night. The department says the back of the home including the porch has severe fire damage while the rest of the house only got minor smoke and water damage. Fire fighters had the fire under control in about 25 minutes but did have to knock down some parts of it to make sure the fire was out. The cause still remains under investigation.
Mendota fire fighters went to the 800 block of 5th Ave.
No injuries were reported from either fire.
