State of the State reaction: St. Sen. Win Stoller says increased spending should be for the developmentally disabled

St. Sen. Win Stoller likes that Gov. Pritzker recognizes the need for more grocery stores in rural areas. He says there are a lot of rural parts of his district without them.

But Stoller says Pritzker is trying to grow state government. He’s worried that state government is heading toward a fiscal cliff and Pritzker is setting everyone up for a tax increase to keep paying for everything.

If the state’s going to spend more, Stoller would like it to be to support the developmentally disabled. He says Illinois is $500 million behind on spending it agreed to for them.

Stoller represents the Illinois Senate’s 37th district.
