Oglesby commissioner and mayoral candidate wants dog park built by election day

Oglesby may get a dog park this spring. Mayoral candidate and current city commissioner James Cullinan believes it can be done for less than $20,000. That means it wouldn’t cost enough to have to bid it out. He would put it in the 100 block of W. 3rd St. near Dickinson House and the city’s water tower.

The dog park idea has been contentious in Oglesby. Mayor Dominic Rivara said last fall, the city shouldn’t spend so much money yet. He expected it to cost more than $50,000.
