Judith Mae Moore, 82, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Judy was born on January 3, 1941, in Chicago, to Clarence and Blanche (Peterson) DeMoss. On August 22, 1958, she married Clarence “Bub” Moore of Seneca who preceded her in death in 2005.

Judy cleaned houses to put herself through nursing school, while raising her family. She was employed as a surgical nurse at the Ottawa Hospital, then as head nurse at Rivershores Nursing Home. Before her retirement, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Johnson and finally for Dr. Beck. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member at Prairie Lakes. She and Bub also enjoyed traveling together, especially their visits to the Casinos.

Judy is survived by her children, Kim (Chris) Farrell of Ottawa, Terri (Thadd) Downey of Marseilles; her grandchildren, Kristin (Miguel) Heredia, Christopher (Amanda) Moore, Kaitlyn Eich, Samantha (Matthew) Wooton, Eric Farrell, Michelle (Zac) Stark, and Triston Downey; 16 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gale (Eloise) DeMoss of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bub; three brothers, Lester, Charlie, and Jimmy DeMoss; and two sisters, Emma Schafer and Florence Cave.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the family.

Her grandchildren will be her pallbearers.
