Weekly COVID report: One additional death, current cases fall below 1,000

A woman in her 70’s died from COVID-19 this week in LaSalle County. The LaSalle County Health Department says she is the 508th death in the county so far. The health department found two previous deaths that didn’t happen in the county, so they were removed and the death count was adjusted which is why the county’s death count is down. Current COVID-19 cases also fell below 1,000 this week for the first time in three months. There were also adjustments to the amount of new COVID cases reported in the county because the health department says fourteen cases were duplicated in the state’s reporting system. There have been 34,470 new cases so far in the county with 35,498 recoveries. There were only 89 new cases this week with 112 recoveries. LaSalle County remains in the low community spread level.
