North Central Area Transit will offer its passengers wifi. The state is giving a $65,000 grant for it. Ottawa City Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says the bus drivers can use it too to communicate to headquarters.

The state also announced a $140,460 grant Tuesday for work on the NCAT maintenance garage. Eichelkraut says that will be added to $349,000 already awarded. He says the city asked for more money because inflation drove the price way up. The garage will be rehabbed so more repairs and maintenance on the buses can be done in-house. Sometimes, buses are sent all the way to Springfield for it.
