The city of Peru wants to update its gaming ordinance. City Attorney Scott Schweickert says there’s very little regulation on it now because it’s outdated. The plan could make changes under the Illinois gaming code so there isn’t one gaming café too close to another one. It could also define what a gaming café is. The city is holding a planning and zoning committee meaning Wednesday to create an ordinance for the updates. The changes could be made at the next city council meeting.
