The two people who work for the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce are packing up. Executive Director Jeff Hettrick plans to close the office on the top floor of the First Federal Savings Bank building on Friday and open next Tuesday inside the Illinois Valley Community College Ottawa Center. The bank and the college will be closed for the Martin Luther King holiday Monday and that’s when the Chamber will move. No one else will need the bank elevator that day. And no classes will be disrupted at IVCC.

Hettrick says the Chamber is giving up a great view over downtown Ottawa for a ground floor location that will be near the new YMCA building. The Chamber will have a ribbon cutting for the new location on February 2nd.

Ottawa Chamber Executive Director Jeff Hettrick is boxing up mementos of long ago preparing for the move to a new office. Many of the items predate the Chamber’s time in the current location, like a picture of the Chamber Ambassadors from the 1970’s.
