Cause can’t be found for west side Ottawa house fire

There’s too much damage to figure out what started a fire on Ottawa’s west side Friday morning. Fire Chief Brian Bressner says it started in the laundry room though. The woman who lives in the house at Ottawa Ave. and Fern St. called for help at about 5:45am. The kitchen was filling with smoke and fire fighters found fire had spread to an attic too. Naplate and Wallace fire fighters and Marseilles Ambulance helped during the 25 minutes it took to control the fire and the few hours it took to make sure no hot spots were left. No one was hurt because of the fire.
