Local labor will be used to build the 80-megawatt solar wind farm in southwest LaSalle County. The Illinois Valley Building Trades and the Hickory Wind Project have announced a Letter of Intent to use local union labor. The project will include apprenticeship opportunities and pay prevailing wages. The project is expected to create about 135 new jobs in the county and 406 new jobs across the state during construction. The farm is supposed to generate $20 million in property taxes over the next 25 years.
