Weekly COVID report: two more fatal cases, current and new cases down

Two more people have died from COVID-19 in LaSalle County. The LaSalle County Health Department reported that a man in his 70’s and a woman in her 80’s succumbed to the virus this week. That means there have been 504 deaths from the coronavirus in the county so far. Current COVID cases did go down for the first time in six weeks. The health department says this week there were 1,070 cases compared to 1,076 last week. There were also 154 new cases which is down from last week. So far there have been 33,553 total cases with 33,483 recoveries. The CDC also says the county remains at the low community spread level.
