Justice Mary K. O’Brien is now on the Illinois Supreme Court. She is taking over after the retirement of Justice Robert Carter. She was sworn in Monday at the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate in Joliet. She thanked the people in attendance and the justices for their support. Before she was a judge, she was a state representative from 1997-2003. Then she became a judge on the Third District Appellate Court in 2004. She will serve a ten year term on the Supreme Court.
