The new LaSalle County Board term is underway, following a swearing-in led by Judge H. Chris Ryan Monday.
Gary Small is the vice chairman.
Until now, the board chairman has also chaired the Committee on Appointments. But an 18 to ten vote went to Arratta Znaniecki over Don Jensen. When committee vacancies happen or when new committees are formed, she’ll guide the process to fill the empty spots.
How they voted on the Committee on Appointments Chair
Znaniecki – Republicans: McNally, Pottinger, Owens, Znaniecki, Blue, Tooley, Roach, Slager, Busch. Democrats: Bernal, Kasap, Savitch, Torres, Trager, Beckett, Carretto, Walsh, Dose.
Jensen – Republicans: Small, Findley Smith, Bright, Emmett, Stockley, Gatza, Brown, Aubry, McEmery. Democrats: Oscepinski.
