Former LaSalle County Board Chairman Jim Olson calls it a great honor. Two years after he left office, the County Board yesterday renamed County Highway 36 after him. Signs calling it Jim Olson Rd. will soon go up along the highway known locally as DuPont Rd. because of the chemical company’s explosive powder manufacturing plant that used to be in the area. The county has a tradition of naming local roads after former county board chairmen. Olson was the chairman for about a year-and-a-half in 2019 and 2020.
