A Varna man’s lawyer says she hasn’t been able to get in touch with a witness in her client’s murder case because that witness is in jail. Maureen Williams has three months to arrange for Rachel Milton to be in LaSalle County for Bradley French’s retrial. Milton’s expected to be out of jail in the middle of December. Judge H. Chris Ryan scheduled French’s retrial Monday for February 27th.
Williams says Milton is the most important witness for her side, because she was at the crime scene when Joshua Scaman died. French is accused of shooting him with a razor-tipped arrow in 2015. Milton served jail time for hiding the compound bow.
