In Local Sports, The Wallace Warriors 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Holy Family 38-6 Michael Johnson had 11 points, Caden Roether with 8, Jake Torres had 5 rebounds. The 8th grade team was also victorious over Holy Family 57-3. Jack Carroll with 23 points, Billy Besse had 11 points, Easton Debernardi with 7 assists. Ottawa Dolphins Place 1st at Stingray Invite at YMCA of Rock River Valley. Winners for the Dolphins include Cole Bressendorf, Kailey Goetsch, Maya Burke, Ethan Farabaugh, Ryland Heaver, Breckyn Jobst, Quinn Wilkinson. In high school hoops, the Marquette Lady Crusaders JV and Varsity teams were victorious last night over Mendota. The JV’s won 47-14. The Varsity won 53-23. Lily Craig led the way with 18 points and seven steals, Makayla Backos and Avery Durdan both added 9 points apiece. In boys high school hoops Seneca defeated Somonauk 88-43. Paxton Giertz led the way with 30 points for Seneca. St.Bede defeated Flanagan-Cornell 59-49, Isaiah Hart led the way with 21 points in the winning effort. The Lasalle-Peru Cavaliers defeated Streator 58-49 last night, Josh Senica led the Cavs with 29 points and 16 rebounds in the winning effort. The Ottawa Pirates fell to Thornridge 78-62 last night. Payton Knoll led the way with 25 points and 9 rebounds in the losing effort for the Pirates. Ottawa will be back in action on Friday night when they play Pontiac at 5:30. You can hear that game on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM.

>>Bulls Visit Bucks

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Chicago Bulls will try to get a winning streak going when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum tonight.  Chicago snapped a four-game losing streak by beating Boston 121-107 on Monday night.  The Bulls are in 11th-place in the Eastern Conference with a 7-and-10 record.  Meanwhile, the Bucks are in second-place in the conference at 12-and-4.  Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00 PM. 

 

>>Blackhawks Take On Stars

(Dallas, TX)  —  The Chicago Blackhawks look to put an end to their four-game losing streak when they visit the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center this evening.  The Blackhawks lost to the Penguins 5-3 on Sunday to fall to 6-9-and-3.  Chicago is in seventh-place in the Central Division with 15 points.  Tonight’s contest gets underway at 7:30 PM. 

 

>>Fighting Irish Bring Down Bowling Green

(South Bend, IN)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish remain undefeated following an 82-66 win over Bowling Green at Joyce Center.  Notre Dame led by just two at the half before outscoring Bowling Green 40-to-26 in the second half.  J.J. Starling led the team with 23 points, and Nate Laszewski chipped in with 22.  The 5-and-0 Irish go up against St. Bonaventure on Friday. 

 

>>Northwestern Beats Liberty

(Cancun, Mexico)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats are on a five-game winning streak following a 66-52 win over Liberty in the Cancun Challenge.  Northwestern trailed at halftime before outscoring Liberty by 15 points in the second half to secure the victory.  Chase Audige scored 20 points in the victory, and Ty Berry finished with 19.  The 5-and-0 Wildcats take on number-16 Auburn tonight. 

 

>>College Basketball Round Up

(Undated)  —  In other college basketball action yesterday, Bradley lost to number-16 Auburn 85-64, Illinois State fell to Western Kentucky 78-66, Northern Illinois was crushed by Sam Houston 88-54, and UIC beat Holy Cross 89-66.  Today, Bradley takes on Liberty, Chicago State is at Cleveland State, Illinois State faces Rhode Island, Northern Illinois goes up against L-I-U, and Valparaiso visits Samford. 

 

>>New CFP Poll Comes Out

(Undated)  —  The Notre Dame football team is moving up in the Top-25.  The College Football Playoff poll had the Fighting Irish as the number-15 spot in the country, which is three spots higher than they were ranked last week.  The 8-and-3 Irish crushed Boston College 44-0 this past Saturday, and they take on number-six USC this weekend.  In other Notre Dame news, the program earned a commitment from 2023 quarterback Kenny Minchey yesterday.
