Donations needed for this year’s Sunrise Rotary Toy and Book Float

The Ottawa Sunrise Rotary Club is again looking for donations for the Toy and Book Float. Chairwoman Sandy Robinson says the unwrapped toys and books for children who were just born to age 12 will be donated to the Salvation Army. She says this year volunteers will be collecting the items along the parade route during the Festival of Lights on Friday like in the past. She says if people aren’t able to purchase a gift, the club will accept a monetary donation.

The float will park again at the end of the parade at the downtown LaSalle County Courthouse to continue to collect the toys and books for about an hour to an hour and a half. If you can’t make it to the parade, Robinson says the club will be in the Farm and Fleet parking lot on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. This is the 33rd year the club is doing the float.
