Election analysis: LaSalle County changed to lean Republican since last mid-term

LaSalle County leaned Republican in the election that just ended. The party’s candidates for statewide offices got 51% to 56% of the votes in LaSalle County.

During the last mid-term election in 2018, things were split. The county leaned Republican in the governor, attorney general, and treasurer races. But it went to Democrats for secretary of state and comptroller.

The Libertarian Party, the only third party on the statewide ballots in 2018 and 2022, did worse this year by percentage and straight numbers. It got more than 1,000 votes for the statewide offices in 2018 and less than 900 this year in LaSalle County.
