Urging people to vote for Democrats, Pres. Biden warned an audience in Joliet Saturday about a proposal he says would jeopardize Social Security and other programs. It’s attributed to Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida. The plan would put federal laws and programs up for a renewal vote every five years. Biden says Americans would lose economic and health care benefits.

Neither Democrats nor Republicans are talking about plans to keep Social Security afloat past 2034 which is about the time it’s expected to owe more in benefits than it can pay. The Social Security Administration has been warning for years that by the mid-2030’s it will spend down its reserves and take in less money than people are entitled to receive.

Biden says Democrats capped prescription drug prices for seniors. Biden says the yearly prescription price cap per senior citizen will be $2,000 starting January 1.

Biden was on a campaign stop for Democratic Congressional candidates including Lauren Underwood. She’s running against Republican Scott Gryder. Biden mentioned that Underwood was a nurse. He said doctors make you live, but nurses make you want to live.
