Weekly COVID report: current cases continue going up, one new death

LaSalle County still remains in the low COVID-19 community spread level despite coronavirus cases rising again in the county. The LaSalle County Health Department says there were 1,037 current cases reported this week. That’s the first time in five weeks current cases were in the 1000’s. There were also 189 new cases for a total of 34,828 so far with only 91 recoveries this week. That’s the second week in a row new cases went up. A woman in her 90’s also died this week from COVID-19. She is the 497th person to succumb to the virus in the county.
