A November trial date is still possible for the Varna man accused of shooting and killing 38-year old Joshua Scaman with a razor-tipped arrow at an Illinois Valley Community College parking lot in 2015. 29-year old Bradley French will be back in court on November 22nd to make sure everything for the case is in order. His lawyer said in September that she should be ready by November 28th which is when the trial is scheduled. Although another lawyer representing her office was in court Thursday. French was serving a thirty-year prison sentence after the first trial he had. But the local appellate court ruled that he should have been able to use more of a self-defense claim and sent the case back to the circuit court level.
