Railroad track warning lights will be installed on a stretch of track between Lostant and Kangley. The Illinois Commerce Commission announced Thursday that they approved an agreement to install the warning lights over the next eighteen months. They will be installed at the railroad crossing on IL 251 in Lostant, on County Highway 44 or Gary St. south of Leonore, and on County Highway 29 in Kangley. The entire project will cost about $1.1 million and will be paid for by the ICC and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. The commerce commission will pay about one million dollars and the railroad company will take care of the rest. The railroad company will also install the warning lights and take care of any future maintenance the warning lights might need.
