Ameren chooses primary route for LaSalle Link transmission line project

By WCMY News Oct 12, 2022 | 6:43 AM

Ameren has decided which way it wants to go when it builds a new electricity transmission line that’ll go from Utica to Oglesby. The company held public meetings over the summer for its LaSalle Link Project. It says the new transmission line will help keep power on during high demand times and during problems on another line. Ameren is asking the Illinois Commerce Commission to approve its primary route. That’ll put the company in position for buying land or negotiating for rights of way along the route. About one third of the route is along Interstate 80 between Utica and Interstate 39.

There’s more information about the project at this link.
