Rainbow fentanyl, the highly potent drug that looks like candy, is in this area. LaSalle County State’s Attorney Joe Navarro says it might even be locally made.
Navarro’s not aware of anyone dying of it, but he says authorities investigating a fatal overdose don’t always find out that much detail. They would know it was a fentanyl overdose but not necessarily how it was packaged or what it looked like.
There have been warnings out lately that children could find rainbow fentanyl and think it’s candy or that they may bring it home after trick-or-treating this Halloween.
