United Way of the Illinois Valley gets $10,500 from Peru City Council

The United Way of the Illinois Valley got a $10,500 check from the city of Peru. The money came from donations from a golf tournament hosted by the city’s Health and Wellness committee. City Human Resources Director Kim Reese says 76 golfers supported the organization with their registration fees and by participating in raffles and other events throughout the day. She presented the check to the United Way volunteers Monday. Executive Director Julie Sloan the money will be given to their twelve partner agencies.
