Illinois Valley Community College is getting a $3.5 million federal grant to help build new agriculture classrooms. The US Economic Development Administration says the grant will allow IVCC to train agriculture workers and aid in the development of new technology. The college’s Board of Trustees announced in December last year that they will commit $885,000 for the project. The college planned to spend about $4.4 million to build the new classrooms. The work is estimated to create about 100 jobs and generate about $500,000 in private investments.
