An attic was significantly damaged after a fire broke out at a home last Saturday evening in rural Marseilles. Fire Chief Dave Parrot says firefighters were called to the home in the 2500 block of 2879th Rd. When they arrived, all they saw was smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters entered through the garage, cut a hole in the ceiling, then found fire coming from the attic. Parrot says after the fire was put out there was also damage to the interior of the house and roof. The homeowners weren’t home and no one was injured. The department also received help from the Seneca and Wallace Fire Departments and Marseilles Police and EMS.
