Weekly COVID report: Two deaths reported while current cases continue to fall

The LaSalle County Health Department reported two fatal cases from COVID-19 this week. It was a man in his 80’s and another man in his 100’s. That brings the county’s total to 490 so far. It’s the first time since July 8th that more than one death from the virus was reported. The health department also reported this week that current cases in the county continue to fall. The county is at 1,186. There were 120 new cases with 189 recoveries reported this week. So far the county has had 34,080 cases with 32,894 recoveries. The county still remains in the low community spread level.
