About 26 LaSalle County communities receiving second round of state COVID relief dollars

At least 26 LaSalle County communities are getting about $10.9 million dollars in COVID relief dollars. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity says the second installment of $371 million is now going out to communities. Ottawa is receiving a second payment of about $1.2 million dollars for a total of about $2.4 million. Streator is getting a second payment of about $892,000 for a total of about $1.7 million. Peru is getting a second payment of about $662,000 for a total of $1.3 million. Other smaller communities like Kangley, Cedar Point, and Lostant are also getting of the money. The first payments were given to about 1,200 communities last year.
