An Indianapolis man convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor in LaSalle County in 2013 is getting a federal prison sentence. 46-year old Darren Farris was required to register as a sex offender for life after spending three years in an Illinois prison. The U.S Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Indiana says on or about July 14th, 2019 Farris took a Greyhound bus from Tampa, FL to Indianapolis, IN. Between then and February 2021, Farris resided in Indianapolis but didn’t register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to two years in federal prison and ten years probation after he is released. He was also picked up in 2016 by LaSalle County Sheriff’s for failing to register his new address in Illinois.
