Trout fishing starts October 15th at Lock 14 on the Illinois and Michigan Canal in LaSalle. It’s one of 59 sites where the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is stocking rainbow trout ahead of the season. The daily catch limit is five. You must have a valid fishing license and an inland trout stamp to fish for trout. Some trout fishing sites in Illinois have an early catch-and-release season that starts on October 1st, but none are around here.
