A longer archery deer hunting period has been approved for LaSalle County’s Catlin Park. It’ll start on October 1st instead of in November and end on January 15th instead of in December. Hunters will be allowed in the park for six hours on weekdays and nine on weekends, instead of only during the mornings three days a week.
Any hunters who want to get deer there need to register at the Catlin Park office this weekend. It’s open from 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday. There are other rules concerning tree stands, how many hunters can be in the park, and some holidays when hunting won’t be allowed. One rule is that only deer without antlers may be taken.
