Not everything at Ottawa’s Riordan Pool will be thrown away before the place is demolished and rebuilt. City Commissioner Marla Pearson says some equipment can be used at other pools. Some things can be used in places that aren’t pools. Some of the tables at Ottawa’s Thornton Park came from the swimming pool.

The city has a $6.7 million contract to replace the swimming pool. The estimated cost was $4.5 million when the city put together the proposal last year.

Riordan Pool sits empty awaiting demolition.
