The sidewalk project on the west side of Clark St. on the south end of Utica will also include lights, trees, and crosswalks. Village engineer Kevin Heitz says it’ll cost nearly $1.5 million. The village is asking for a state grant that could cover most of it.
Some parts of the grant will cover 80% of the cost. Others will cover 50%. Heitz says the blend of things should put the grant coverage between 60% and 80%.
It’s likely to be spring when the grant awards are announced.
